Week of October 26, 2026

Thank you to everyone who made it out to Parent-Teacher Conferences last week! It sounds cliché, but you are your child's first teacher. Thank you for allowing us to partner with you and help your child grow!

Big shout out to our PTO (and other!) volunteers who really made a big difference during conferences. They kept our Book Fair open for families to shop in the evenings, and they provided dinner for our teachers. The next PTO meeting is November 4th. Please mark your calendar and come join us! The school is a better place with all of you!

🎃 HALLOWEEN 🎃

Happy Halloween Week, Families! We are looking forward to a fun, festive week with your children and all of you!

Halloween Activities: Teachers are planning Halloween celebrations for their own classrooms and have sent home information. Please connect with your child's teacher if you are still wondering about any activities outside of the Halloween Parade.

If you are coming into the school, please remember that you need a background check on file. Sign-in at the office and get a visitors badge before heading down to your child's classroom. Thank you for all your help with this!

Parade: The Halloween parade will take place on Friday, October 30th at 1:30 PM. We are hoping for nice weather!! Parents and family members are welcome to watch from the parade route. If you are in the building for a classroom activity, you will be asked to head towards the parade route to find a place to watch by 1:15 PM.

Costumes: Children may bring their costumes to school on October 30th. Be sure to label everything! 😊They will put them on at school sometime before the parade. Please remember that costumes worn at school must be school-appropriate. Make sure your child's costume is easy for them to move around and see in - this may mean avoiding masks. Weapons, blood/gore, or excessive scariness should also be avoided.

🚗 Car Line Etiquette 🚗

This week there were a few instances of adults leaving their car in the drop-off line and walking their child indoors. This meant that the cars in line had to wait for that adult to return to their car and move it before they could come up to the door or try to pass the car in the busy parking lot. Please help by following these guidelines:

  • At drop off, please move all the way forward to the first available cone to allow your child(ren) to unload. This will allow more cars to get closer to the building entrance and unload at the same time.
  • Please stay in your car in the drop off lane. You may get out to help your child open the door if needed, but please stay with your car and return to the drivers seat as quickly as possible.
  • If you need to walk your child to the door or go into the school, please park your car in the parking lot before coming in.

Thank you for your help with keeping our tiny parking lot a safe and orderly space for everyone.

Resources

Going to Preschool Stories -
It is normal for children at this age to have some separation anxiety when coming to school. You can help reassure your child by being calm, saying goodbye quickly, and reminding them that you will see them when school is over. Sometimes reading a story to your child can help. Click on the link to see a story that might help your child!

Tide Me Over Bags -
This program is for PreK through High School students and provides
extra food for over the weekends. Click the link to sign up!

The Lion Heart Experience -
If you have Spotify, you can hear some of the Lion Heart music your child learned this week and enjoy it together!

You can learn more about Joe Vercellino and the Lion Heart Experience on his LinkTree or on his website.
