Stockbridge Community School Millage Renewal Vote

We are pleased to inform our community about an important upcoming event. On August 6, 2024, there will be a vote to renew our existing school millage.

This renewal is critical to maintaining the high standards of education and the quality of facilities that our students and teachers currently enjoy. This is not an increase in annual taxes; it is a renewal of an existing millage. This renewal does not affect most homeowners at all, only non-homestead properties. By renewing this millage, we ensure continued funding without increasing the tax rate.

  •  Educational Programs: Supports advanced placement courses, arts, music, Ag, Science, CTE Programs, and athletics, providing a well-rounded education.
  •  Technology: Equips classrooms with up-to-date technology.
  •  Teacher Support: Helps attract and retain highly qualified educators.
  •  Facilities Maintenance: Used to repair and upgrade school buildings.

Without this funding, our schools would face severe budget shortfalls, leading to cuts in educational programs, larger class sizes, outdated technology, and poorly maintained facilities. The quality of education would be at serious risk.
Your involvement is crucial. We encourage all community members to participate in this important decision. Voting on August 6, 2024, ensures your voice is heard. Early voting options and absentee ballots will be available.

  •  Date of Vote: August 6, 2024
  •  Current Millage Rate: 18 mills ($18 per $1,000 of taxable value)
  •  Purpose: Renewal of the existing millage, not a new tax
  •  Impact: Continued support for educational programs, technology, teacher salaries, and facility maintenance
  •  Affected Properties: Only Non-homestead properties

The Stockbridge community has a proud tradition of supporting education, and this millage is essential for continuing that tradition. It allows us to maintain the quality of our schools without increasing taxes. Your vote is vital to ensure our children have access to the best possible education. Mark your calendars for August 6, 2024, and make your voice heard.
