Welcome to Emma L. Smith Elementary School
Welcome to Smith Elementary, Where Small Hands Make Big Impressions.
Smith Elementary prides itself in creating a positive environment for its students and staff in showing great Panther Pride. Being Safe, Responsible, and Respectful can be heard throughout the halls of the school each and every day. Students can earn “Panther Paws” for their outstanding behavior.
We strive for community involvement. For example, a parent-teacher committee plans many of the yearly school assemblies and activities that is paid for by the Parent Teacher Organization. The PTO also plans an active calendar of events, including book fairs, our annual Winter Carnival, mileage club, box top contests, and other various activities for students throughout the school year.
We are privileged to be your partner in your child’s education and success and look forward to sharing great memories with each and every family.

We share the excitement that the electric bus opportunity presents for students and our school community. We also recognize that using electric buses is a change and want to make sure we answer as many questions as possible and share them with the entire community.
Space Interests Soar to New Heights
Jason Gruber, a 2024 Stockbridge High School graduate and FFA alumnus, is a rising star in the fields of space and agriculture. During the 2024 total solar eclipse, Gruber led a team of FFA members in his chapter to launch a cube satellite and high-altitude balloon into the atmosphere, capturing images to determine how eclipses affect crops.
