The varsity baseball team defeated Olivet in districts on Saturday, 4-1 and Leslie 11-9. The team is the district champs and plays in regionals in Saranac Saturday, June 12 at 9:30 AM.

The varsity softball team's season came to an end last night as they lost to Maple Valley 2-1 in pre-district action. The Panthers fell behind 2-0 in the first inning, but didn't surrender another run after that.
The track teams had 12 athletes compete in the Selby Track & Field Honor Roll Meet last night at Jackson High Stadium. This meet has the top 9 runners from all divisions in the Jackson area for each event.

The Stockbridge track teams competed in the SMAA Conference Finals Track Meet last night. The boys finished 4th in the league while the girls finished 5th.
The varsity softball concluded its regular season with another doubleheader sweep last night, as they defeated East Jackson 11-1 and 8-0.
Attention high school band members: You need to report to the high school at 9:15 Monday morning dressed in your marching uniform.

SENIORS - YOUR GRADUATION TICKETS ARE READY TO BE PICKED UP FROM MRS. LEARNED IN THE OFFICE. YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR TICKETS; NO ONE ELSE WILL BE ALLOWED TO PICK THEM UP FOR YOU.
Seniors: On your last day of school you need to carry around to all of your classes a sign out sheet. Have your teachers sign the sheet indicating that you have turned in all materials. Also you need to be cleared from the library. Then return the completed sign out sheet to the office. Sign out sheets are on the counter in the office. You must have a completed sign out sheet turned in to the office before graduation or your diploma will be held.
There will be an autograph signing for Lucas Wardius for his own personal yearbook. If you would like to sign the yearbook you can do so during all lunches. Seniors, if you are interested in signing his yearbook make sure you do so this week. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Cyr.

The JV baseball team lost to Hillsdale last night 12/1 & 21/5.
The varsity softball team wrapped up a second place finish in the SMAA last night with a doubleheader sweep at Hillsdale. Game one saw the Panthers win 6-1, while winning the second game 4-1.

Any National Honor Society students that are still in need of community service hours can sign up for "kids night out". It is this Friday May 14 from 6 to 9 pm. After school child care is having a night of dancing, singing, games, and fun. Contact Jo Mayer at community ed. at the middle school.

Have you ever wanted to help support other kids? How about kids who are struggling with sickness and health problems. Here is your chance to help those kids. Tiffani Eibler is holding a drive for Mott children's Hospital. She is collecting fleece tie blankets, stuffed animals, art supplies and board games. Everything must be brand new. You can drop off donations in the box in the front office the week of May 10th through the 14th.

As you know the high school robotics team and coach has qualified to participate in the 2010 MATE ROV International competition in Hawaii in June. There is a container in the office for you to help them raise money to make this trip of a lifetime and represent Stockbridge.

Thursday May 6 will be the 59th observation of the National Day of Prayer. On May 1st 2010 President Obama gave a Presidential Proclamation stating "I call upon the citizens of our Nation to pray, or otherwise give thanks, in accordance with their own faiths and consciences, for our many freedoms and blessings, and I invite all people of faith to join me in asking for God's continued guidance, grace, and protection as we meet the challenges before us." Stockbridge students and staff are invited to gather at the flag poll on Thursday May 6 at 7:15 AM for a time of prayer. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Kuzma.
Have you ever wanted to help support other kids? How about kids who are struggling with sickness and health problems. Here is your chance to help those kids. Tiffani Eibler is holding a drive for Mott children's Hospital. She is collecting fleece tie blankets, stuffed animals, art supplies and board games. Everything must be brand new. You can drop off donations in the box in the front office the week of May 10th through the 14th.

Attention Students: We are working on a plan to increase security around the perimeter of our buildings. The exterior building has been re-cored and new keys have been issued. Other measures will include updating security systems and maintenance of cameras.
The JV baseball team defeated
Michigan Center 10-7 in the first game. In the 2nd game the JV

was defeated by Michigan Center in a close game 8-7.
The JV softball team got back on the winning track by defeating Michigan Center 12-0 and 24-6.

The varsity softball team played well on Saturday beating Laingsburg 4-0 and Reading 8-2, before falling to Hanover-Horton 4-0 in the championship game of the Panther Invitational.

On Saturday, April 17th, the Stockbridge High School Advanced robotics class competed in the Great Lakes Regional ROV Building Competition, sponsored by the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary and the Marine Advanced Technology Education Center (MATE). The competition featured teams from Michigan and Ohio. The team of B. Mason, J. Summers, C. Allred, and Z. Olson, designed, tested and built a Remotely Operated Vehicle for use underwater. During the competition the team completed an engineering design presentation, a poster presentation and then went to the pool to put their ROV to the test. The team had 15 minutes to complete a series of underwater mission that simulated real rov missions off the coast of Hawaii. The team completed the missions with the overall high score more than 40 points ahead of the nearest competitors. The Stockbridge team not only won the Underwater Missions category but also were overall champions for the event. By winning the Great Lakes Regional ROV Building Competition, the Stockbridge High School Robotics Team is now qualified to move on the MATE International ROV Building Competition, which is taking place at the University of Hawaii-Hilo 24-26 June 2010.

Student Council would like to thank everyone who helped out with Mock Rock last Friday. The acts did an awesome job! Two first places were rewarded: one for talent and one for mock. Winning the talent act was the group Invasive Species. Winning the Mock category was the first ever Stockbridge Swim Team. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone who attended.

The Freshmen Basketball team finished their season with a win over Hanover Horton 45-29. The defense was relentless in the first half as they only allowed Hanover to score 6 points, while they put up 23.

The varsity girl's basketball team lost to Linden last night in the 2nd round of the districts 46-31. It was close for 2 1/2 quarters but the panthers couldn't get anything going offensively in the 2nd half.
Today the freshman boy's basketball team travels to Hanover Horton with the bus leaving at 2:15, the JV and varsity boys basketball teams travel to Hillsdale with the bus leaving at 4:00 and the wrestling team travels to Leslie with the bus leaving at 4:30.

The varsity boy's basketball team earned its 13th victory of the season last night by defeating Columbia Central 57-56.
The JV boy's basketball team lost a heartbreaker to Columbia Central on Tuesday night by a final score of 65-64. After erasing a 10-point deficit in the final 3 minutes the Panthers lost on a last second shot with 2 seconds left. The Panthers were down double digits numerous times throughout the night but showed a lot of heart as they battled back the entire game.
Girls Basketball Districts continue tonight starting at 5:30 with South Lyon East vs. Fowlerville and at 7:00 Stockbridge vs. Linden. Come out and support your Panthers!

The varsity girl's basketball team waited to the first game of districts to play their best game of the season beating Lake Fenton 52-41. The girls came out in the first quarter and played harder than they have all season outscoring the devils 21-6. A full and half court press was the key as the panthers forced numerous turnovers and turned them into points. Lake Fenton battled back to tie the score at 38 going into the 4th quarter but the panthers outscored them 14 to 3 to get the win. The lady panthers play Wed. night home at 7:00 against Linden. Please come out and cheer them on.
Today the JV and varsity boy's basketball teams host Columbia Central starting at 6:00. Attention all students and staff: Four senior boys will be playing in their final home game tonight at 7:00. These four boys will be going for their 13th victory of the season. Come on out and support these four seniors and their teammates as they take on the Columbia Central Golden Eagles.

In league competition Quiz Bowl fell to Williamston varsity and JV. The competition was close and the team has made some great gains over the season. The both finished up 4 and 4. Good Job! The team's final tournament is tomorrow at Haslet. The quiz bowl team also finished up their Quizbusters competition in the sweet 16 round losing to a strong Olivet team.
The Freshmen Boys lost to Western 39-47. The boys will host Jonesville on Friday at 4:30.
The varsity girl's basketball team lost to Western last night 27-37. It was another close game throughout and it came down to Western making their free throws at the end.

The Stockbridge High School Advanced Robotics class participated in the 2010 Aero-Innovative Vehicle Design (Aero-IVD) competition Saturday, February 20th, 2010 at the Great Lakes Aviation Conference in Novi, Michgian. Class members were tested on their Aeronautical and technical knowledge and then were required to present and demonstrate their knowledge through a competition using remote control helicopters and airplanes. This competition allowed class members to practice their engineering skills while learning about careers in aviation. The Advanced robotics students will compete in Robofest 2010, on March 11th, 2010 Grand Rapids.

The Stockbridge wrestlers traveled to Williamston High School for Individual Regionals on Saturday. Congratulations to all Panther wrestlers on a great season.
The Freshmen Basketball Team beat Leslie on Friday night 64-53.
The varsity boy's basketball team continued their winning ways by defeating rival Leslie 73-63 last Friday night.
The varsity girl's basketball team lost a close game to Leslie last Friday night 32-25. It was a tough game offensively as shots didn't fall all night but a solid defensive effort holding the Blackhawks to only 32.
Today the boy's basketball teams host Western starting at 4:30 and the JV and varsity girl's basketball teams travel to Western with the bus leaving at 4:30.

In academic league competition yesterday, the Quiz Bowl team had a great day. Varsity defeated Owosso 47- 39 and Haslett 51-34. JV defeated Haslett big time, 47 -13 but fell to Owosso 51-26. Next week the team finishes off the season at Haslett and competes in the sweet 16 round of the WKAR Quiz Busters competition on the MSU campus. The team's first round Quiz Busters competition will be aired on Sunday March 28th at 7pm.

The boy's bowling team lost to Hillsdale last night 23-7.
The Girl's bowling team defeated Hillsdale 27-3. The ladies bowling team ended up in 2nd place in the SMAA conference behind Western.
The competitive cheer team traveled to Albion last night to compete in the SMAA conference championship. They all did a great job and came back with a 4th place finish. On Saturday they travel to Columbia Central for Districts.

The annual Winterfest Dance will be held this Valentine's weekend on Saturday night from 8-11 at the high school. It is a semi-formal dance open to all grades 9-12, but not as fancy as the prom. This year's theme is "A Night Under the Stars." Couples pay $10 and singles $5. Pay at the door. There will be snacks and refreshments. Frazzini Photography will also be there for pictures.

The wrestling team Stockbridge Panthers traveled to Pennfield Battle Creek for team Districts last night. They took on Lumen Christi in semi-finals and were defeated 69-9. Many missing teammates due to bad weather and no school did not help the Panthers put points on the scoreboard.

Today during 4th block study/review time you need to go to lunch when your 4th block teacher does. The following teachers have A lunch: Mrs. Avis, Mr. Cook, Mr. Francis, Mr. Ladd, Mr. Langone, Mrs. Lockhart, Mrs. Martell, Mrs. Nosek, Mrs. Overbey, and Mr. Watson. If you have any of these teachers you need to go directly to A lunch and then class after lunch. All other teachers will inform you of their lunchtime today.
Ms. Floetter's Jazz band students have B lunch today and Mrs. Hatch's students have C lunch.
The Winterfest dance is on Saturday, Feb. 13th. If you plan to bring a guest to the dance you need to sign up in the office and complete a guest request. The completed request form needs to be turned in to the office by Wednesday, Feb. 10th.
On Monday the Spirit Week dress code is "SNOW DAY" - this does not mean that you get to stay home that day. It means you need to dress like you are out in the snow - such as: hats, coats, mittens/gloves, and scarves, etc.
Today the freshman boys basketball team hosts Hanover Horton at 4:30 and the JV girls & boys basketball teams follow. On Friday the varsity girls and boys basketball teams travel to Columbia with the bus leaving at 4:15. On Saturday the competitive cheer team is at Michigan Center.
Remember there is no school on Friday for students - it's Records Day.

The varsity boy's basketball team played 3 awesome quarters last night after falling behind 21-14 in the 1st quarter. Defense was the story from the 2nd quarter on, the Panthers allowed 18 pts for the last 3 quarters.
After putting themselves in a 10 point deficit in the 1st quarter the Stockbridge JV boys came back to beat East Jackson 63-51 on Tuesday night. The comeback was led by an entire team effort on defense and the best shooting night of the year for the team.
Today the wrestling team travels to Hillsdale with the bus leaving at 3:45.

The varsity girl's basketball team won their second game in a row Friday night beating Lansing Christian 41-34. It was the Panthers best defensive effort of the season holding the pilgrims to 9 or fewer points in each quarter. The panthers also had a good night on the offensive end scoring 10 or more points in each quarter, all around their best effort of the season as a team.
Stockbridge PANTHERS wrestled at the Dexter Wrestling invitational Saturday and took home 8th place. Competition was fierce and had some close matches.
The varsity boy's basketball team played hard Friday night but ended up on the wrong side of the scoreboard against a tough Lansing Christian squad 46-51.

There is Open Gym tomorrow night, 8 - 10 for 8th - 12th graders. $2 at the high school gym and bring your basketball! Make sure you check the office window for a schedule of dates for open gym.
All athletes will have a brief 5-minute meeting today after school - especially football players are encouraged to attend by Coach Killinger & staff to be there. You will still be able to make your bus if you ride one.
The Stockbridge JV boy's basketball team won a tough fought game on last night by a final score of 51-45. The Panthers free throw shooting was excellent and a key to the victory as the team shot 73% making 22 of 30 free throws including 2 critical free throws late in the game.

During the coat drive there where more than three hundred items brought in. The results of the classes that brought the most items in are: In third place Mr. Trapp's class... In second Mr. Watson's class... In first Miss Schaeffer's class. They will get a pizza and pop party during their third block on the day of their choice next week. Thank you to every one who brought in clothes. You helped a lot of people in need.
The wrestling team competed in a league meet against Columbia Central, and also wrestled against Leslie again, but came home with two losses. Columbia Central 46 vs. Stockbridge 27

Today the boys and girls bowling teams are at Western and the JV girls and boys basketball teams travel to Lansing Christian with the bus leaving at 4:15.

Freshmen boy's basketball team lost to Western 47-54.
The varsity boy's basketball team improved its record by defeating Western 73-69.
The varsity girl's bb team won a big game last night beating Western 43-41. The game was close throughout with many lead changes. With 31 seconds left and the scored tied the Panthers needed a big stop on defense in order to force overtime but Western took a shot with 12 seconds left and missed and gave Stockbridge a chance in regulation.
The junior varsity girl's basketball team lost to Western last night 44-40. The ladies played with a lot of tenacity, but were unable to knock down some key shots. They travel to Lansing Christian on Thursday.
Today the wrestling team travels to Leslie with the bus leaving at 4:45.

In the first meet of the Academic Quiz Bowl League, Stockbridge hosted Corunna, Owosso, Haslett and Williamston. Stockbridge varsity and JV teams defeated Corunna, but fell to Owosso. Next Thursday, the team travels to Owosso where they will compete against Haslett. Thanks to all who helped and allowed the use of their rooms.
The JV girl’s basketball team traveled to Leslie last night and returned home with their third win of the season. The Lady Panthers jumped out to an 11-9 lead after the first quarter and then proceeded to win each quarter after that on their way to a 39-25 victory.
The JV boy’s basketball team overcame a poor shooting night with a great defensive effort for the full 32 minutes. The Blackhawks made a late charge but the Panthers held on to win 52-41.
The wrestling team went undefeated after two Bouts in the SMAA Conference opener last night. Stockbridge 52 / Webberville 18 & Stockbridge 42 / Leslie 35. The Home field advantage is in Stockbridge’s favor this year; The Conference meet will be held right here at STOCKBRIDGE HS on Sat. Feb. 6, 2010. Check out the Champs of our area. Only $5.

A very special congratulations goes to the following students for placing in the Red Sky-English 11 writing contest. Students submitted essays to professional technical writers for competition. Placing first was Ashlyn Mancini for a $50 cash prize; second was Alicia Emmons and third was Samantha Gardner, both earning $25 cash prizes. Congratulations, writers!

The varsity boy’s basketball team battled defending league champs Albion to a 51-61 loss.
The varsity girl’s basketball team lost a heartbreaker last night to Albion 52-46. The game was close the whole way with each team sharing the lead. The panthers were down 7 at the half but came back strong in the 3rd quarter to outscore Albion 16-7 and take a 2-point lead into the 4th. With 1 minute to play Stockbridge led 46-44 but some costly turnovers and missed free throws decided the game. Over all the girls played their best game of the season.

The Freshmen Basketball team defeated Napoleon 34-20.
The JV boy’s basketball team dug themselves a 12-point deficit to start the game and could never completely recover losing 57-37 on Tuesday night to Napoleon.
The varsity boy’s basketball team suffered a hard fought battle versus Napoleon last night 53-56.
The varsity girl’s basketball team lost to Jackson NW last night 49-34. After being down 14 at halftime the girls came out in the 3rd quarter and played their best quarter of the season and cut the lead to 6 going into the 4th. The first 2 minutes of the 4th quarter sealed it for Northwest as they scored 5 quick points and never looked back.

The varsity girl's basketball team defeated Grass Lake in the first round of the Panther Classic 40-30 but lost to Ida in the championship game 50-28.

The wrestling team traveled to Dansville for the Battle of M-52 last night and came out with a 1-1 record. The Dansville Aggies 'Team State Champs of last year' won their battles beating Stockbridge and Williamston. The Stockbridge Panthers went on to defeat Webberville.
The Panthers travel to Jackson for the JAWS tournament, Saturday, Dec. 12th. Wrestling starts at 9:00.

Today the JV and varsity girls basketball teams host Chelsea starting at 6:00, the boy's basketball teams travel to Corunna with the bus leaving at 2:45 and the wrestling team travels to East Jackson with the bus leaving at 4:45.

Please report to your group's room location for the start of first hour with your pencils and a calculator if you wish to use one. Group 4 will test on Thursday, December 10th. Group assignments are posted in US History classes and on the main office window.

Stockbridge wrestlers went 1-1 on their season opener at Parma Western. They won against Michigan Center 42-24 for their first match and lost 12-51 against Jackson for their second match.

The JV girl's basketball team traveled to Corunna last night and was defeated 49-23. A slow start hurt the ladies as they fell behind 14-1. However a strong third quarter helped them get back into it as they got back to within 5. The Cavaliers were too much as they pulled away in the final quarter. The ladies will be back in action on Friday as they host Onsted.
The varsity girl's basketball team lost to Corunna last night 56-30. The girls had a tough time with their up tempo style of play and never could get anything going offensively.
Attention varsity girl's basketball: Please meet in the library at 3:00 for a team meeting before practice.
Today the wrestling team travels to Western with the bus leaving at 4:00.

The quiz bowl team finished up their SMAA League season strong. Final standings had Stockbridge varsity 3rd in the league. JV finished up in 2nd. Excellent job by all! The next competition is Monday, Nov. 30th at WKAR for the first round of 2009 Quiz Busters competition.

Teens: Come to the public library after school on the 3rd Thursday of the month for free snacks and a chance to talk about what you've been reading and hear what others have been reading.
There is a donation jar in the office for Justin Cox called "Pennies for Paws". This donation will help Justin with funding to receive a service dog. Any amount will be appreciated to help Justin reach his goal of being independent.

Conditioning will be everyday at this time until practice officially starts on the Monday November 16th. If you want to be ready for the season plan on being there for conditioning.

Ferris State University College of engineering Technology school design and manufacturing is having an open house on Saturday, Nov. 7th. The FSU Welding program provided Mr. Watson with several postcards inviting you and others to see their laboratories in action and meet faculty and students. Stop in and ask Mr. Watson about it.

There is a spectator bus going to Onsted tonight leaving at 4:45. All students who signed up to ride the bus need to bring their $3.00 today to receive their ticket. This does not include payment to get in the game. If you ride the bus to the game you must ride the bus home. The bus will wait on you approximately 10 minutes after the game is over and then it will leave - make sure you make it on the bus - don't get left behind.

During the week of November 2nd Mr. Trapp's Wildlife Biology/Environmental science class is collecting donations to help our school become a "green school". Donate your spare change to your first hour class to help. When you donate money you will receive a ticket from your teacher allowing you to wear a hat or hood all day on Friday. You must have a ticket to participate. At the end of the week the class donating the most money will receive a cupcake party the following Friday. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
The Stockbridge Varsity Volleyball Team played another very exciting match last night in against Hillsdale. Stockbridge had a strong start with a first set win but lost the second and third sets. In the 4th set, Stockbridge pulled out another win with a string of 10 serves.
The JV volleyball team lost their final match of the season to Hillsdale.
The freshman volleyball team lost to Hillsdale last night.

Tonight at 7:00 p.m., the SHS and SMS Concert Choirs will present their Fall Concert! It is in the SHS cafeteria and admission is free! The women's choir needs to be in the cafeteria by 6:00 and the mixed choir needs to be in the cafeteria by 6:15 tonight.
There will be a Student Council meeting after school today in Mr. Baird's room. It will begin at 2:25 and will last no longer than an hour. Snacks will be provided. Make your coaches aware that you will be late for practice.

The Stockbridge girl's JV cross country team ran at the East Lansing meet and finished with fast times.
The Boys Cross Country J.V. team ran an excellent race yesterday at East Lansing. Seven harriers completed the 3.1 mile course in new personal record times.
In their second match of the week, the Stockbridge Varsity Volleyball Team played their closest match of the season against Lansing Christian. The Panthers lost the first set 16-25, but battled back in the second set to win 25-23. In the third set, Stockbridge struggled with their serving and lost narrowly 21-25. The Panthers came back strong in the 4th set winning 26-24. In the tie breaking fifth set, Stockbridge could not hold on and lost 10-15.
The JV volleyball team defeated Lansing Christian last night in three matches
The JV Football Team fell to Hudson last night 49-18. The Panthers had many bright moments, but could not overcome the Hudson running attack.
Today the varsity football team hosts Hudson starting at 7:00.

The Varsity Football Team completed a clean sweep of the SMAA Conference on the muddy field at Western last Friday night as they defeated the host Panthers 26-14. This win assured the Panthers their first league title since 1979 - 30 years!
The Panthers improved to 7-0 on the season and will host undefeated Hudson this Friday. Come out and support your Panthers. Kick-off is at 7:00.

A representative from Ohio Technical College will be in Mr. Watson's room #209. Juniors and seniors interested in automotive, diesel, AG/Heavy Equipment, Auto Body, Outdoor power Equipment or CDL Training need to get a pass for the 4th block presentation today.
The Varsity Football team defeated Columbia Central 43-40 in dramatic fashion Friday night. The Panthers have earned at least a share of it's first league title in 30 years. They travel to Western this Friday where they can claim the title outright with a win. Kickoff is 7:00.
Parent/Teacher conferences are today and tomorrow from 4-7.
Today the golf team is at Lakeland Hills for the SMAA conference meet and the volleyball teams host Hillsdale starting at 5:00.

The Student Council hopes you enjoyed this year's Homecoming festivities. We consider this year's operation to be an outstanding success. Be sure to thank those who put in so much hard work: the Student Council, and the Officers. If you missed it Friday night, the Sophomore Class won the float competition. The Freshmen class had the highest Spirit Dress Up percentage rate by a long shot. The winning 1st block classrooms for Spirit Dress & party recipients are 2nd place to Mrs. Leunenberg's Fr Govt class and 1st place goes to Mr Baird's Sr Leadership class.
The Stockbridge Girl's cross-country team finished 2nd at the Haslett Invitational last Saturday.
The boys cross-country team finished 3rd at the Haslett Invitational on Saturday. The team ran very well on a sloppy course.

The JV football team lost to Columbia Central last night 42-0. Turnovers and penalties hurt the Panthers chances. Come out next week as the JV plays their last home game of the season Thursday night. Kick-off is at 6:30.

The boys cross country team competed at the Jackson Invitational with J.V. athletes running on Friday while the Varsity ran on Saturday. On Saturday, the varsity team competed in division II with 14 larger schools and Hillsdale. Four athletes ran under 18:00 with three being personal records (P.R.'s). Because of their efforts the cross-country team placed 6th in a highly competitive field.
As many of you sleep Friday morning, the cross country teams will be running the Homecoming game ball 36.3 miles from Columbia Central to Stockbridge in support of the undefeated football team.
The Stockbridge Varsity Volleyball Team played very well at the Panther Pride Volleyball Invitational this weekend. Stockbridge defeated Hudson, Manchester, split with Perry, and lost to Homer in pool play to come out of their pool in 2nd place. Next the Panthers faced the top ranked Quincy team in the semi-finals. Stockbridge lost in the first set, but came back in the second set to win. In the third set, the Panthers tried to hold on, but lost to Quincy after several very close plays. Exhausted yet still giving their best effort, the Stockbridge team lost the consolation match with Madison to take 4th place in the 10-team tournament. The Stockbridge team earned 31 service aces for the day.
The Stockbridge Varsity Girls Cross Country finished in 5th place out of 16 teams.
In the JV race last Friday the girls ran tough and continue to show improvement Great job to the JV and Varsity teams at the Jackson Invitational. The cross-country team travels to Haslett this Saturday.
The Stockbridge Varsity Football team continued its winning ways this week by rolling over the Albion Wildcats last Friday night 48-14.

The Stockbridge Varsity Volleyball Team played a tough match against league rivals, Lansing Christian, last night. The Panthers started their evening with an 18-25 loss. Although Stockbridge played tough in the second and third sets, they couldn't pull out a win, losing 22-25 and 21-25.
The JV volleyball team defeated Lansing Christian in two 25-20 and 25-16.
Today the cross-country teams travel to Hillsdale with the bus leaving at 2:45 and the varsity soccer team travels to Dansville with the bus leaving at 4:45.

The Stockbridge Varsity Volleyball Team struggled at the Onsted Invitational Saturday. The Panthers started their morning with a split against Addison. The Panthers lost to Hillsdale Academy and St. Mary's Catholic Central. Stockbridge advanced to the Silver Bracket for semi-finals play against Pittsford. The Panthers lost the first set but came back in the second set with a win. In the tie breaking third set, Stockbridge had a 12-8 lead, but could not hold on and lost 13-15.
The freshmen volleyball team went to the Hanover Horton Invitational this weekend where they played Bath, Whitmore Lake, Northwest, Hanover Horton and Adrian.
Today the soccer team travels to New Covenant Christian with the bus leaving at 3:15.

Stockbridge High School is offering both Segment I and Segment II driver education classes this fall. The Segment I class begins Saturday September 26. The next Segment I class will not be until February. The Segment II class begins Saturday October 3. Applications are available in the office. Classes will be filled on a first come first served basis.
Open gym this Sunday in the high school gym from 2-4 PM. This is open to any student who wants to play basketball, walk, or do any sport.
Seniors, who wish to take the ACT for the first time or who plan on retaking the ACT for better scores on Saturday, October 24th, must register to do so by this Friday, September 18th! If you decide to register after this Friday's regular registration deadline you will pay a late fee of $21.00. Stop in to Student Services for registration information.
Seniors who are planning to apply for admission to a four-year college and especially for admission to Michigan State University (MSU) or the University of Michigan (U of M) should do so as early as possible this fall. Please see Mrs. Cummings or Mr. Wenzel if you have any questions.
Juniors & seniors: It's the time of year when college representatives come to SHS to give a presentation and answer questions about their college. You are allowed to sign up for two colleges a semester, so choose wisely which ones you want to listen to. So far we have on the schedule: Adrian, Alma, Ferris, Grand Valley, Lake Superior State, Lawrence Tech, Northern Michigan, Saginaw Valley and MSU is in the works. Please stop by the Counseling Office to sign up.
Seniors: Central Michigan University invites you to be their guest on Saturday, Sept. 26 for an open house. You can tour the campus, talk with professors and advisors, learn about scholarships, receive free tickets for you and two guests to the Central vs. Akron football games and drop off your application for admission. If you are interested or have any questions see Mrs. Cummings in Student Services.
The Stockbridge Equestrian team earned 59 points last Saturday at the Mason Fairgrounds putting them in the lead of their division. Olivet Schools are close behind with 53 points. The team hopes to keep their lead this next weekend at Mason so that they can advance to regionals.
Today the JV football team hosts Leslie at 6:30 and the varsity and JV volleyball teams travel to Albion with the bus leaving at 3:15.

The Stockbridge Varsity Volleyball Team suffered a loss to league rival Columbia Central last night. The Panthers had a slow start to the evening losing 20-25 and 19-25 in the first two sets, but came back strong in the third set against the Eagles' starting line-up to win 25-22. The Panthers couldn't hang on and lost the fourth set 11-25.

The 1st round of Homecoming Queens Voting is tomorrow (Tuesday) during Lunch in the cafeteria. Each Freshman, Soph., and Junior will get the chance to nominate 3 girls from their class. Each Senior will get the chance to nominate 4 girls from their class. The final round of voting will take place on Thursday.

The Varsity Football Team shutout Hillsdale Friday night, 10-0. The Defense set the tone for the night as they held Hillsdale to just 97 yards rushing and 8 first downs.

The girl's cross-country team came in 3rd place at the Springport Invitational yesterday. The girls earned themselves a third place trophy.
The Boys Cross Country team had a strong showing this week as they competed in back to back meets winning both. On Tuesday they went to Grass Lake and scored a perfect score of 15 to defeat the Warriors in a dual. Yesterday they won the 11-team large school division at the Springport Invitational with 79 points. Any runners needing a ride to practice need to get changed and then stop by Mr. Allison's room #107.

If you are driving to school you need to park in the student parking lot - do not park in front of the school. These parking spots are for visitors to the school. If you do park in the student parking lot you will need a parking permit. If you had a permit last year and no new information - please turn your old permit into the front office to receive the 2009-2010 parking tag. If you do have new information or have never had a parking permit you will need to complete a parking permit application, located in the front office. New enrollees will need to show their drivers license and pay $2.00.
Time to put away those summer clothes and do some back to school shopping. When thinking about what clothes to buy, keep in mind our student dress code. Please make sure to put away your low cut tops, short skirts and shorts and tank tops with straps smaller than 3 inches and avoid the pajamas.
If you are not sure whether it's orange day or black day - just check the calendar posted on the office window.
Quiz Bowl will be starting up next week. We are looking forward to a great season. The team will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays after school in Mr. Langone's room. Ms. Kimmel and Mr. Langone would like to welcome anyone who is interested in participating with the team this year. Please stop in and talk to either of them if you have any questions.
If there are any ladies interested in playing a sport this fall and haven't signed up for one - the varsity golf team is still accepting members. What a great way to earn your varsity letter and have a great time too! Please contact the front office if you have questions and we can give you the name and number of the ladies varsity golf team.
Attention freshman and sophomores! Missed the start of football and think it's to late to join? Think again! The JV football team is still accepting members. If you are interested please see Coach Killinger or Coach Ladd for more information.
Enjoy football, but padding up not quite your style? Want to be part of the team? Coach Killinger is looking for student managers to help during practices and game nights. Ask to see him at the boy's locker room immediately following school for details.
JOSTENS WILL BE HERE DURING ALL LUNCHES ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH TO PASS OUT CLASS RINGS THAT WERE ORDERED IN THE SPRING. YOU MUST PAY THE BALANCE OWED ON YOUR RING IN ORDER TO PICK IT UP.
Today the cross country teams travel to Springport with the bus leaving at 2:15 - please excuse the boys and girls cross country team members at 2:00, and the varsity soccer team hosts Albion starting at 5:30.
