July 1, 2006 Dear Parents and Guardians: Your child’s safety is our top priority. The schools of Ingham County will not automatically close if there is a Homeland Security Advisory System Level Red Alert. However, if local emergency planning officials determine that there is a specific threat that impacts Ingham County, the steps listed below will be taken. (Please note: Homeland Security Advisory System Level Red Alert means there is a severe risk of a terrorist attack.) We will also monitor alerts in Washtenaw, Livingston, and Jackson Counties and take appropriate action based on a risk assessment.
